Due to an internal promotion we now have a great opportunity for a Communications Manager, UK & ROI.

About the Role

As Communications Manager, you will work to protect and enhance the corporate brand of Essity with all stakeholders within the UK&ROI region. You will build campaigns, and projects reaching target audiences with messaging to help position Essity as a global leader in hygiene and health, focusing on areas including sustainability, being an employer of choice, and incorporating our beliefs and behaviours of Care, Collaboration, Commitment and Courage into our messaging.

This role is based out of our offices near Manchester airport. This full-time position is offered on a hybrid working pattern of up to two days per week working flexibly at home with 3 days office-based. There is a requirement to travel on occasions to Essity locations in UK&ROI and Europe.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Communications Director, UK & ROI, you will be responsible for:

  • The implementation of communication plans and activities to inform relevant stakeholders of the strategy and priorities and to build the corporate brand in the region.
  • Work alongside agency partners to deliver best-in-class communications initiatives and digital content that drive global communications objectives.
  • Provide expert communications counsel and support to the Consumer Goods, Professional Hygiene, Product Supply, and Health & Medical Solutions business units in the UK & ROI.
  • Following editorial guidelines, the Communications Manager UK & ROI is responsible for the management and delivery of the region’s editorial/activation plans for internal and external audiences.
  • Supports the implementation of Group Function Communications and global unit policies and plans, including internal channel management and evaluating all activities.
  • Supports media and issues preparedness for the UK & ROI.

Who You Are

With a business, marketing or communication-based degree, along with significant work experience in communications, PR or marketing, preferably in a multinational manufacturing or commercial environment, you will have the following additional attributes:

  • External communications and media relations experience working across channels, along with excellent digital communications skills (O365, basic Photoshop, websites, social media, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze business needs from a communication point of view, and advise in regards to proactive and reactive approaches, handling incident communications efficiently.
  • Ability to ensure consistency and protection of company brand and deliver tailor-made and audience centric communications.
  • Project management, as well as issues management experience
  • You are driven and show initiative along with interpersonal savviness to be able to influence at a senior level and navigate efficiently within a matrix organisation.
