Real Chemistry is looking for a Senior Designer to join our growing team!
21GRAMS, Real Chemistry’s advertising agency, has done a lot in its first 5+ years. Known for our creativity, we've just been ranked as the #2 creative health agency in the world by Cannes Lions. It takes a team to do ambitious things, and our ambition is to help people connect with healthcare – by making advertising less of an interruption and more worth people’s time because it actually gets them. As an agency with the full capabilities of Real Chemistry at our fingertips, we’ve got endless potential.
At 21GRAMS, we’re proud to introduce our agile content studio, delivering bold storytelling and streamlined creative execution with quality and speed.
We’re looking for a sharp, skilled and efficient Senior Designer to join ROOM42's Content Studio. You’ll serve as a key creative partner, applying your design expertise across healthcare/pharma (both HCP and consumer) and beyond. Reporting to the VP, Creative Lead of Content Studio, you’ll be responsible for shaping and refining art across a wide range of deliverables - bringing conceptual clarity, brand voice alignment, and category fluency to everything you touch.
This is a remote-first role open to candidates based anywhere in the United States. For candidates located near a Real Chemistry office (such as New York), there may be an expectation of 1–2 days per week in-office, depending on team and business needs.
Responsibilities:
Own day-to-day production leadership for assigned accounts, translating the brief into clear scopes, timelines, and next steps across internal teams and external partners
Partner with Creative and Account leads to align deliverables, assumptions, and resourcing; flag risks and trade-offs early and propose practical solutions
Build and manage production schedules for multi-channel digital tactics (e.g., websites, interactive visual aids, videos, banners, landing pages, and emails), coordinating handoffs from kickoff through deployment
Coordinate cross-functional teams (Art Direction, Design, Copy, Development, and QA) to keep work on brief, on timeline, and ready for regulated review and launch
Manage estimates, budgets, and vendor/partner engagement as needed, maintaining clear documentation, approvals, and change control
Oversee trafficking and version management, ensuring accurate specs, files, and final deliveries across platforms and stakeholders
Run status updates and working sessions, communicating progress, decisions, and dependencies to internal partners and maintaining momentum across concurrent projects
Support internal and client-facing presentations by confidently walking through plans, timelines, and rationale, connecting recommendations back to the communication objectives
Contribute to ongoing process improvement (templates, workflows, and best practices) to improve speed, quality, and team efficiency across the Content Studio
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience designing in an agency or in-house creative team
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Healthcare/pharmaceutical experience is a plus, especially across digital deliverables and regulated review processes
Actively experimenting with AI tools in day-to-day work (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Copilot, Figma Make) and eager to adopt AI-assisted automation practices that elevate craft and efficiency
A comprehensive creative portfolio, demonstrating strong conceptual capabilities and ability to produce work in high-science pharma categories.
SMART Goals
Designer
Deliver 90% of assigned digital production assets (e.g., emails, banners, social, landing-page components) on or before agreed milestones each month, as tracked in the project schedule
Reduce avoidable QA rework by achieving ≤2 designer-caught errors per project (links, specs, sizes, naming) by the end of Q3, measured through QA checklists and producer feedback
Build and maintain a personal library of 10 reusable, on-brand modules (e.g., header systems, CTA treatments, safety blocks, icon sets) by quarter-end to improve speed and consistency across deliverables
Demonstrate category fluency by completing 2 healthcare/pharma compliance learning modules and applying the learnings to 3 projects by the end of Q2, validated via lead review notes
(AI goal) Use approved AI tools to generate first-pass layout options and/or component variations for at least 2 deliverables per month, then document what was used and what changed, reducing concept-to-first-draft time by 20% by the end of Q3
Senior Designer
Lead design execution on 2 multi-tactic initiatives per quarter (e.g., email + landing page + banners), delivering 100% of core assets within timeline and scope, as confirmed by Producer and Account sign-off
Increase first-round approval rate to ≥75% for assigned work by the end of Q3 (fewer than 2 major creative revisions), measured through review cycles and feedback logs
Own brand consistency by creating/updating 1 digital toolkit per quarter (templates, type/spacing rules, component guidance) and achieving adoption on 3+ projects within that quarter
Mentor and quality-check work for 1–2 Designers per month by providing actionable feedback within 24 hours of review requests, improving their on-time delivery to ≥90% by the end of Q4
(AI goal) Pilot an AI-assisted workflow for repurposing creative across platforms (e.g., resizing, layout variants, copy-fit explorations) on 1 initiative per month, and publish a 1-page playbook by quarter-end showing a 15% reduction in turnaround time without increasing QA findings
Design Lead
Set and maintain design standards for the Content Studio by launching a Design System v1 (core components, accessibility baselines, and usage guidance) by end of Q3, with ≥80% adoption across new digital projects in the following quarter
Improve studio efficiency by reducing average concept-to-release cycle time by 10% by end of Q4 through clearer intake, tighter review rituals, and reusable modules; track via production timelines across at least 10 projects
Increase quality and consistency by achieving a first-round client approval rate of ≥70% on lead-owned initiatives by end of Q4, measured across 6+ client review cycles
Develop team capability by running 1 skills workshop per month (craft, accessibility, platform best practices, compliance considerations) and documenting takeaways; target a +1.0 average improvement in quarterly self-assessments across participating designers
(AI goal) Establish an approved AI usage framework for the studio by end of Q2 (prompt patterns, quality checks, legal/compliance guardrails, and documentation), then deliver 2 measurable pilots by end of Q3 demonstrating either 15% faster turnaround or 20% fewer rework cycles

Working with Real HART: Since the pandemic, we have adapted to how our people told us they want to work. We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us.* For employees who are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients. We are also actively opening new office locations, so if one opens near you, our Real HART policy will apply. We are not looking for attendance for the sake of attendance but believe that the opportunity to coordinate in-office team meetings, 1:1 meetings with managers, taking advantage of on-site learning, and connecting with client partners is a critical to delivering on our purpose of making healthcare what it should be. *Outside of these offices, we have regions, where people work remotely but come together quarterly for collaboration, culture and learning opportunities. We call this our Real Hybrid and Regional Teams (Real HART) approach. Real Chemistry believes we are best together – and our workplace strategy fosters connection and collaboration in person – but also supports flexibility for our people.
