R/GA are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their finance team in Sydney. You will be responsible for owning month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across APAC’s multiple entities. You will also support accounts payable and receivable processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with experience in Australian accounting standards and US GAAP, who is eager to grow within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role will primarily support areas of Australia controllership, but also assist with Singapore, Japan and Indonesia related tasks as required.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other GST/VAT reporting for the offices as required
Ensure compliance payroll tax and workers compensation requirements, including worksheet preparation and lodgment
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
Perform weekly bank reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies
Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Support annual external audits by providing required documentation and explanations
Partner with external tax advisors on FBT and income tax returns
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and enhance internal controls
Work closely with internal stakeholders across Australia and overseas teams
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CA or CPA qualified, or currently working towards qualification
2–5 years of accounting experience
Sound understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and local tax legislation
Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Xero, SAP, or similar
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working in a multinational environment
Exposure to multi-entity or inter-company accounting
Experience supporting month-end close in a fast-paced business
