Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Proactively monitoring deliverability health across a roster of 60+ nonprofit and political clients, identifying reputation issues, inbox placement dips, authentication failures, and blocklist risks before they affect campaign performance;

  • Serving as MissionWired’s lead technical resource on deliverability incidents, including diagnosing root causes and recommending practical, time-sensitive next steps;

  • Leading mitigation efforts with mailbox providers, ESPs, and external partners;

  • Reviewing and advising on email authentication and sending infrastructure, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, alignment, domain configuration, and related sender requirements;

  • Using Inbox Monster and/or comparable deliverability platforms (Everest/Validity) to interpret inbox placement, reputation, complaint, and seed-test data and convert it into actionable recommendations for client teams;

  • Advising internal teams and clients on best practices;

  • Partnering with client-facing teams to explain technical issues and join client conversations as needed;

  • Helping teams distinguish between technical infrastructure problems, list-quality issues, content-related issues, and broader sender-reputation challenges;

  • Building repeatable processes, documentation, and internal guidance;

  • Training and mentoring internal team members on email deliverability fundamentals, emerging sender requirements, and common warning signs;

  • Serving as the primary relationship manager for deliverability-related vendor coordination;

  • Supporting best-practice planning for high-volume fundraising and advocacy moments.

Must-have qualifications:

  • 4+ years of direct, hands-on experience in email deliverability, preferably in an agency or other high-volume sending environment;

  • Demonstrated success diagnosing and problem solving for deliverability issues, authentication failures, and mailbox-provider escalation scenarios;

  • Deep working knowledge of email authentication and sender infrastructure, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, alignment, and current bulk-sender expectations from major mailbox providers;

  • Strong experience with deliverability monitoring and reputation tools, ideally Inbox Monster, or similar platforms such as Everest/Validity;

  • Ability to interpret technical deliverability signals and recommend actions under tight timelines;

  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical internal stakeholders and clients;

  • Experience working cross-functionally with strategists, email production teams, account teams, and vendors;

  • Strong judgment and responsiveness in fast-moving environments where campaign timing and inbox performance are business-critical;

  • Comfort working independently as a consultant while still collaborating effectively with internal teams.

Nice-to-have qualifications:

  • Experience supporting nonprofit, advocacy, or political email programs, especially environments with rapid-response fundraising, list growth, and high volume;

  • Familiarity with the pressures of campaign-season sending, including high-frequency messaging, urgent mobilization, and large list segments with varied engagement quality;

  • Experience working with client-facing strategy teams and participating directly in external client meetings;

  • Working knowledge of major tools used in digital fundraising programs;

  • Experience developing internal training materials that improve team self-sufficiency;

  • Familiarity with seed testing and broader sender reputation diagnostics;

  • Ability to spot patterns across multiple client accounts and recommend preventive strategies.
