DEPT is hiring on behalf of a client within the financial services and risk management space for a Data Product manager. The role is for a 3 month contract. Contracts are evaluated quarterly, or every three months, for this project, and will likely extend.
Responsibilities:
Define and own the product strategy and long-term vision, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs
Lead and scale high-performing product teams, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development
Establish clear team structures, decision-making hierarchies, and operating cadences to support efficient execution
Manage the full product lifecycle from discovery and ideation through launch, iteration, and sunset
Conduct market research, customer discovery, and competitive analysis to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities
Apply Agile and Lean methodologies to optimize product development workflows, delivery predictability, and cross-team collaboration
Drive roadmap planning, forecasting, and velocity management to ensure realistic commitments and on-time delivery
Partner closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and operations to define, prioritize, and deliver product requirements
Champion user-centered design principles to deliver intuitive, high-quality user experiences
Develop customer segmentation strategies and tailor product initiatives to address the needs of distinct customer groups
Drive revenue growth through product-led initiatives, feature expansion, and platform enhancements
Engage regularly with executive stakeholders and key customers to gather feedback, manage expectations, and maintain strategic alignment
Contribute meaningfully to operational planning, including OKRs, capacity planning, and performance metrics
Rapidly ramp into complex environments, assess existing processes, and implement scalable frameworks where needed
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, translating insights into actionable product strategy
Tech Skills:
Proficient in product lifecycle management, from ideation to launch and ongoing enhancements
Strong market research and analysis skills
Experience in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum
Understanding of user-centered design principles and user experience best practices
Familiarity with revenue growth strategies and metrics - Knowledge of customer segmentation techniques and targeted product strategies
Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and relationship management
Understanding of B2B/B2C SaaS business models and product considerations
Familiarity with business development strategies and partnership opportunities
Basic understanding of programming languages to effectively communicate with engineering team
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including executive-level communication
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage stakeholders and build relationships across teams
Effective project management and organizational skills
Collaborative mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teams
Strategic thinking and ability to drive product vision and roadmap
Compensation:
Rate is up to $95 hourly on a Fixed Term, W2 Contract. Contracts are evaluated quarterly, or every three months, for this project, and will likely extend. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and leveling. Keep in mind, we're flexible. **
